Project Description

Heritage Cottage is a small piece of Highlands History! This quaint little cottage is made up of two cottages joined together with an additional living area. Tucked into the side of a little hill within walking distance to everything Highlands has to offer- fine dining as well as hamburger places, pubs, brewery, churches, library, eclectic shopping experiences from T-shirt places to upscale clothiers and furs.

Heritage Cottage has two bedrooms and two baths, and each have access to a joined covered porch. The larger bedroom is the more private bedroom and has a Queen bed and small bathroom with tiled shower. The second bedroom has Queen bed, a small bathroom with tiled shower as well, and is the main access/walk/thru from the kitchen/living area to the first bedroom. There’s a large folding screen in this room to be used if you’d like for more privacy. The kitchen also serves as the dining area and has just about everything you’d need except a dishwasher. The living area is 3 steps up from the front door entrance and has comfortable seating, a sleep sofa, Cable TV, WiFi, gas log fireplace and an entrance to the open deck with seating for two and a gas grill. There is a little grassy yard beside the home for lawn games.

This is an older home that has had many renovations over the years, but still holds its uniqe character. It’s not trying to be a five star hotel suite, and wants its guests to relax, enjoy and repeat.

Cozy old cottage on the slope with a magical porch

The house is larger than seems on the pictures. There is a lovely living room with lots of natural light. There is cozy porch where you can relax while listening to the birds and the creek. Its only 5-7 min walk to the main street, but feels like you are far away. I liked multitude of windows and doors in every room that give you a chance to observe the nature. We stayed for 2 weeks with 2 little kids (2.5 and 5). We hiked almost every day as there is abundance of hikes for all ages. Town is lovely too. Has the best used book store I ever seen, lovely grocery store/cafe, brewery, village green with concerts, comfy pub, toy store, art museum and ice cream place – who can ask for more 🙂

Walk to town was easy and nice quiet street with babbling stream that you can hear from your open windows. Only negative which was not the Chamber’s Realty fault was WiFi was promised and it was not working because owner had not authorized to turn it on. They tried to fix it but didn’t happen while we were there.
