Tree Tops on Potter
High up in the Tree Tops! Well maintained four bedroom, three baths on two living levels helps make this home a great place for a large family – BUT also perfect for just one or two people. Large open family room with gas log fireplace, open kitchen and dining area, and a wonderful covered porch that ‘lives’ like a cozy retreat. Main level has 2 bedrooms- 1-King with private bath, and 2nd with 2 twins. Guest bath in hallway. Lower level has a large family room, full bath, laundry area, 3rd bedroom with double and 4th bedroom with 2 twins.
Located at the top of a quiet lane, there’s a carport with easy access to the main level. There’s extra parking near the lower entrance, or take the beautiful rock steps up to the upper level. The lower deck is probably where you’d set up the hammock for some lazy afternoon reading, but the screened porch wins for outside dining, conversation, and relaxing.
This home is on the ‘Atlanta side of town’, just beyond Highlands Country Club, and The Farm wedding venue, so it lends itself well for overflow guests, or wedding guests. Just a few minutes to Main Street Highlands where you’ll find eclectic shops selling everything from T-shirts to furs, and restaurants offering everything from burgers and fries to four-star restaurants.
If you’re into hiking, photography, sightseeing, etc. Highlands is the place to come. It’s been called land of the waterfalls, probably the most visited is Dry Falls, where you can walk behind the falls. Hiking in this area offers everything from five-ten minute excursions along the Highlands Greenway, or five-six hour hikes like Yellow Mountain (don’t blame us if you’re sore the next day). Tree Tops is close to Glen Falls and the Chinquapin Trail- both of those are must-sees as well as others like Whiteside Mountain, Sunset Rock, Highlands Nature Center and Botanical Gardens and much, much more.
Year-round covered swimming pool at the Rec Park, Concrete skater park, Zip line canopy tours are within 7 miles, Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center offers year-round tubing. You better plan to stay awhile, because there’s too much to see and do for a weekend!

Quaint and Quiet
Nice home for a family getaway. Amazing, screened in second story deck surrounded by trees. Close enough to town to enjoy entertainment and shopping, secluded enough to feel like you’re miles away. My only complaint is that there is not a bear/animal proof garbage cage on the property. They allow a small bag to be left behind in the house, otherwise trash must be taken to the dump/recycling center a few miles away. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a hassle when trying to pack a car, wrangle kids and depart by 10am. Other mountain homes that I’ve rented allow you to leave garbage in the cans within the locked cage. That being said, I would still rent this property again if I were in the area. A bit of planning ahead could allow for trash to be taken away the day before departure. Thanks for a lovely stay, it was great to visit Highlands!
