Buckberry Lodge is a 5 BR/ 4.5 bath log cabin set in a lush landscape of perennials and native rhododendrons. This home has three levels and is perfect for one couple, or sharing with friends or extended family. The main level offers: fully equipped kitchen which is open to the ‘Old Hickory’ dining area. The two story living area has a wood-burning fireplace, Cable TV, VHS/DVD with plenty of comfortable gathering spaces. Screened dining porch and open deck with stainless gas grill. Mst. BR (Queen) has a private screened porch and large bathroom with shower and jetted tub. There’s a half bath just off the entry foyer. The upper level has a full bath in the loft area between the guest bedrooms. (2 twins, Queen) The lower level has a family room with wood burning fireplace, billiard table and accessories, small TV/VHS. The lower deck has porch swings and other seating and is accessible from the family room and both lower guest bedrooms (Queens in each BR- one has a private bath, and the other shares a hallway bath). The laundry area is on the lower level. Large backyard area with a small trail that ends up at a nice cool creek. Buckberry Falls is a small area tucked away, yet convenient to shopping, restaurants, hospital, hiking, and more. Main Street Highlands (about 4 miles) and Cashiers (about 10 miles).



NO Pets and NO smoking.



This home has a three- night minimum, except for HOLIDAYS AND SOME LOCAL EVENTS.

When you book your reservation through VRBO/Homeaway, the Property Manager handling this property will be notified by VRBO/Homeaway that a reservation has been made.

You will be asked to enter your credit card information, but you will not be charged for your reservation at this time. You WILL be charged a nominal service fee by VRBO/Homeaway. The fee is between you and VRBO/Homeaway; the property manager has nothing to do with the fee.

After the property manager has been notified of your reservation, you can rest assured this property is being held for you. You are booked.

The property manager will email you a lease. The lease will need to be reviewed, signed and returned to the property manager. If you haven’t received a lease within 72 hours it could be because the property manager/rental office is closed. (Operating hours are Mon-Fri 10-4) OR you may need to check your SPAM folder. Your lease will have options- usually the price you pay will be less than what is shown because all the options are listed.

The property manager/rental office for this property is a small-town business and we’ve been renting properties for over 30 years. We use VRBO/Homeaway for rental leads/reservations. A portion of your rental proceeds goes to VRBO/Homeaway for their service.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Experience!

Our blended family (with grandchildren) we’re together for the first time and we could not have asked for a more perfect time or accommodating place to stay for adults and grandchildren. Plenty of space , warm fireplace and a full kitchen to bring in the aroma of Thanksgiving meal and leftovers. Shopping in Highlands, ice skating ,tubing at Scaly Mtn., rollercoaster ride and golfing at beautiful Old Edwards Club and breathtaking Glen Cove. We have rented many places over the last 20 months while our new home is under construction. This is a great, large home for a family or friend gathering close to downtown Highlands. The management company did a fantastic job and communicated quickly. Would highly recommend it.

Perfect house in a great location!

We rented this house to attend a family reunion. It was perfect for our group as each family had their own floor for bedrooms and baths. The checkin process was easy. The rental office was not far from the house , which was convenient. The house was clean upon arrival . Communication with the rental office was great - very responsive to questions or concerns. Very quiet location. Check out instructions were minimal with easy key drop off. Only complaint is that there is no trash service at the house. Although the transfer station (convenience center) is close by, we had to make a run every day to get rid of trash and recycle. Otherwise, a great stay and perfect for a large group. Would recommend staying here if you are in the beautiful Highlands area.

Wonderful Family July 4th Celebration!

Our 16 year old grandson, Heydan, said it best "Nana, this is the best house ever. Plenty of room as described, location was great as we played golf and took in activities at the beautiful Old Edwards Club and The Saddle at Glen Cove. Great customer service as we did not know how to program the AC (it was a new unit and required Blue Tooth) but Mr. Chambers came over and took care of the only issue that we had. We will be back at Thanksgiving!!!Thank you!

Great Rental House in Highlands, NC

We are repeat renters at Buckberry Lodge. The home is in a great location between Highlands and Cashiers. There are several hiking trails and waterfalls near the home. The home was very clean and spacious. The team members at Chambers Realty were very nice and professional. I highly recommend Buckberry Lodge as a place to stay in the Highlands/Cashiers area.

Great House in Highlands, NC

My family had a wonderful time staying at 170 Buckberry Road. The house was clean and plenty big for our group of seven. Further, the location was perfect as it was between Highlands and Cashiers, and near several great hiking trails and waterfalls. We did not encounter any problems during our stay. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to return in the future.

Thanksgiving Get-A-Way

Large house on 3 floors...perfect for a large family. In my case there was my wife and myself, and two daughters and there family...we all had our own floor! The kitchen had everything you need to prepare a large meal. The property was close to town and secluded. Abundant things to do; shopping, zip lining, sight seeing...there are numerous waterfalls nearby and in our case a slope for sledding. On the down side the house is drafty and groceries are expensive. We missed the colors of fall but I would not hesitate to book the property again.

Nice Mountain Cabin

We spent a long weekend with 4 other couples. This house was perfect for us. Everyone had plenty of room. The location was 3 miles to Highlands and was also close to a number of hiking trails. We would definitely stay here again.

Buckberr Lodge, great stay.

The house was great. Loved the open wood beams, the location, the privacy, etc. It was a great house and a great stay. The one thing I should mention is the neighbor said the bears can reach through the structure surrounding the trash receptacles and they can open the lid and get trash out and strewn around the property. We were going to put our trash in the bins until we heard that. Plus, the cans were full from previous guests. We packed our trash and recycling out when we left but there is still trash in the cans.

We loved the locatin of the house as well as the well laid out floorpan.. I only would suggest that lighting is poor and LR need larger lamps with higher wattage bulbs.. Also bedrooms lamps should be large Enough and bright enough to see if one wants to read. Kitchen well supplied. Some maintence needed. But all in all, I'd go there again. We had a wonderful tune, Thanks

Great Rental Cabin!

This cabin was exactly the 'cabin feel' we wanted. The cabin was spacious and cozy (though a few more throw blankets wouldn't hurt)! We loved the nature all around it, and the secluded yet close to town location. The town is adorable, full of small shops and restaurants.

My gripe is that it was not clean upon arrival. We had been approved for early check in at 2:00 and the place hadn't been touched when we got there. We called and the cleaning crew came right away, but they were not finished until nearly 5 - an hour after the original check in time. They did a good job cleaning, I just wish it would have been done on time.

The house was great for our stay. Being a VRBO home owner I understand sometimes things are not perfect. When we arrived we found two dead mice in the downstairs bedroom. We move on and we had a great stay.

Our second trip to Buckberry Lodge

This was our second year at this property. Last year generally, all was well. However, there were problems with appliances. (Dishwasher and Freezer) This year, same problems, in fact the ice maker leaked enough that the ceiling in washer room collapsed. The dishwasher stopped working on the second day. Water service to home had to be turned off until repairs were made. These things did not ruin our trip to Highlands, but they sure did't make it any better. Tucker mentioned that some "adjustment" would be made. I feel that would be a nice gesture, I leave the amount up to you. We like the home very and would probably return. Maybe it is time for some new kitchen appliances. John McElvey
